Not every romance starts with flowers…

Nadia gets the 7.30 train every morning without fail. Well, except if she oversleeps or wakes up at her friend Emma’s after too much wine.

Daniel really does get the 7.30 train every morning, which is easy because he hasn’t been able to sleep properly since his Dad died.

One morning, Nadia’s eye catches sight of a post in the daily paper:

To the cute girl with the coffee stains on her dress. I’m the guy who’s always standing near the doors… Drink sometime?

So begins a not-quite-romance of near-misses, true love, and the power of the written word.

This little introduction seemed really intriguing and hooked me the minute I picked the book. I had many expectations from Our Stop as the synopsis and the lovely cover made me expect a lot.

The book is about a man and a woman who commute to work by the same train around the same time mostly on Monday mornings and how they eventually start fancying each other through the adverts they sent each other in the daily paper.

The story however, is not as simple as it sounds. Even though Daniel and Nadia have the same destination in terms of love but their route turns out to be pretty complicated. From every little interaction to a near miss, their story is not as easy it seems.

‘Am I being crazy?’ Nadia asked. ‘I feel like I can’t put a message in as a response because it might not even be me. Can you imagine? He’s expecting  Daisy Lowe to respond, and he ends up with bloody ME?’

The characters played a major role in the story however, they were not very impactful. Similarly, Nadia seemed pretty immature at times while Daniel was portrayed as the ‘perfect’ man. Even their story seemed a little boring or forcefully dragged to me in the between but the end just made it PERFECT!

The writing style was not as intriguing as I was expecting it to be but it did have a little charm to it which eventually made me finish the book.

Our Stop by LJ Williams met most of my expectations and turned out to be of the finest romance books that I’ve read this year. And I really do not doubt the fact that it is gonna turn into the most anticipated release of 2019!

I highly recommend this book to the fans of romantic comedies and slow-burn and slow-paced romance!peachpuff-brush-stroke-photography-logo
