Hey guys! I hope you all are doing wonderful and are enjoying this festive season at it’s best! Today, I am here to share my December Book Haul with you all. Unfortunately, during the early weeks of December, I was caught up with my uni exams so I couldn’t share my haul sooner 😦 So, now that my exams are finally over (cries in happiness!) I am all geared up to share my love for books once again! But before I begin, I would like to mention that the haul for this month is basically me catching up with my long due TBR books. And when I mean “long due” I really mean the books that I have wanted to read since like FOREVER and since not much days are left in this month, I decided to just catch up on my tbr and not add new more new books to it (nervously laughs as adding more books seems pretty tempting! 🙈).
So without further ado, let’s get started!
Throne of Glass (Throne of Glass #1) by Sarah J. Maas
When magic has gone from the world, and a vicious king rules from his throne of glass, an assassin comes to the castle. She does not come to kill, but to win her freedom. If she can defeat twenty-three killers, thieves, and warriors in a competition to find the greatest assassin in the land, she will become the King’s Champion and be released from prison.
Her name is Celaena Sardothien.
The Crown Prince will provoke her. The Captain of the Guard will protect her.
And a princess from a foreign land will become the one thing Celaena never thought she’d have again: a friend.
But something evil dwells in the castle—and it’s there to kill. When her competitors start dying, horribly, one by one, Celaena’s fight for freedom becomes a fight for survival—and a desperate quest to root out the source of the evil before it destroys her world.
why i want to read it: well, I really doubt that there is anyone who haven’t read this phenomenal book till now (except me! ugh shame SHAME). So, TOG has been on my TBR since I started blogging and now is the time when I finally bought it! (MORE SHAMEEE) So yeah I pretty excited to read this gem of a book. (secret: I am almost done with it as I started reading it during exams. So ya”ll can expect a review very soon 😉)
Vampire Academy (Vampire Academy #1) by Richelle Mead
Lissa Dragomir is a Moroi princess: a mortal vampire with a rare gift for harnessing the earth’s magic. She must be protected at all times from Strigoi; the fiercest vampires – the ones who never die. The powerful blend of human and vampire blood that flows through Rose Hathaway, Lissa’s best friend, makes her a dhampir. Rose is dedicated to a dangerous life of protecting Lissa from the Strigoi, who are hell-bent on making Lissa one of them.
After two years of freedom, Rose and Lissa are caught and dragged back to St. Vladimir’s Academy, a school for vampire royalty and their guardians-to-be, hidden in the deep forests of Montana. But inside the iron gates, life is even more fraught with danger . . . and the Strigoi are always close by.
Rose and Lissa must navigate their dangerous world, confront the temptations of forbidden love, and never once let their guard down, lest the evil undead make Lissa one of them forever . . .
why i want to read it: it has been really long since I have read a nice vampire themed novel so I really wanna give this a chance as I have heard a lot about it. I am pretty sure most of you might have read it so, please share your views down below!
The Host (The Host #1) by Stephenie Meyer
Melanie Stryder refuses to fade away. The earth has been invaded by a species that take over the minds of human hosts while leaving their bodies intact. Wanderer, the invading “soul” who has been given Melanie’s body, didn’t expect to find its former tenant refusing to relinquish possession of her mind.
As Melanie fills Wanderer’s thoughts with visions of Jared, a human who still lives in hiding, Wanderer begins to yearn for a man she’s never met. Reluctant allies, Wanderer and Melanie set off to search for the man they both love.
why i want to read it: The first and foremost reason is of course Stephanie Meyer. I would love to read her writing once again after the Twilight series. Plus, I have heard that here Meyer’s writing is way better and more polished so YES to that! I have been avoiding this book even though it is a part of my TBR just because I do not enjoy reading science fiction much. But, I am hoping now that I have a physical copy in my hand so I’ll read it and enjoy it.
Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices #1) by Cassandra Clare
In a time when Shadowhunters are barely winning the fight against the forces of darkness, one battle will change the course of history forever. Welcome to the Infernal Devices trilogy, a stunning and dangerous prequel to the New York Times bestselling Mortal Instruments series.
The year is 1878. Tessa Gray descends into London’s dark supernatural underworld in search of her missing brother. She soon discovers that her only allies are the demon-slaying Shadowhunters—including Will and Jem, the mysterious boys she is attracted to. Soon they find themselves up against the Pandemonium Club, a secret organization of vampires, demons, warlocks, and humans. Equipped with a magical army of unstoppable clockwork creatures, the Club is out to rule the British Empire, and only Tessa and her allies can stop them…
why i want to read it: I mean I cannot even explain how happy I am to finally have the time to read the infernal devices! I loved the Mortal Instruments so I just cannot wait to get started with this!
WELL, THAT WRAPS UP THIS POST! I WONDER IF YOU GUYS HAVE READ ANY OF THESE BOOKS! IF YOU HAVE, THEN PLEASE MAKE SURE TO SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS IN THE COMMENT SECTION DOWN BELOW! I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR THEM!
