Today, I am delighted to host the Blog Tour organized by Favourite Pages Book Club for The Opal Amulet.
Fourteen year old Emberly Tollens doesn’t dream often but when she does its never a good sign, especially when its the same dream. Some nights she would dream of the sweet nothingness of time. Other nights the voices would get louder, the running faster, and the staff colder. Ice cold. But this is just the beginning of her problems.
Things get even stranger when she finds a dangerously beautiful opal necklace lying on the ground at school. Not strange at all. And definitely not strange when your once kind of nice teacher turns into a fire-breathing creature from the past, right?

The Opal Amulet is a middle grade fiction that revolves around fourteen year old Emberly who finds a dangerously beautiful opal necklace lying on the ground at school. The necklace is more than what it seems just like Emberly’s dreams at night. I am not a person who reads middle grade fiction quite often but when I do, I really enjoy every bit of it! Same goes for The Opal Amulet. This book was such a fun and unique read!
“It was only a dream. Only a dream. You’re safe now. I’m here”
The Plot of the book was quite well planned. It was very well structed. Despite being simple and straightforward, it was very unique and did a great job at attracting my full attention to it. The pacing was well managed. It was neither hurried nor too slowed. I believe it was close to what we call ‘perfect’.
The characters were quite interesting as well. I liked the character developments throughout. It was quite smooth and well paced as well. Since I don’t wish to give away spoilers, I will not go into details about the characters.
The writing style of the author was quite engaging. It helped the plot appear more engaging. It was indeed quite intriguing to read Drozda’s writing.
