My relationship with Cole isn’t a simple one.
It’s complicated, frustrating and, at times, downright ugly.
You see, I fell for a man who couldn’t love me back.
Hard as I tried to avoid the dimpled prince of Seattle, life threw us together.
As much as I resisted temptation, he burrowed his way into my heart.
Sinful as our attraction was, our destinies were entwined.
But don’t worry. Ours is a love story after all. I had no idea how our fairytale would play out, but one thing I knew for certain?
Fate had a twisted sense of humor, and she did not play fair.
Nat King Cole. That’s what they called us.
Natalie was the sunshine in my gloomy existence, but she wasn’t mine.
We were friends at best. At least, that’s what we told ourselves.
Hard as I tried to stay away from the vibrant city girl, life shoved us together.
She was out of reach, but lived under my skin and haunted my dreams.
Despite the unshakable attraction, we never crossed the line.
You might say our relationship was a test of fidelity. And doing the right thing had never been more challenging. We may have toyed with destiny, but for damn sure…
We didn’t tempt fate. Fate tempted us.

“I had never felt more coveted. Ever. Not through words, touch, actions. Especially not from the way someone looked at me. And that man studied me like I was the answer to all his questions.”
Honestly, when I first read the synopsis I thought this is one of those typical stories about a good girl changing her usual monotonous way and finding a guy as the “perfect-ending.” However, I was proved wrong! This book is way beyond that. It deals with many issues revolving morality, personality conflicts and choosing what your heart desires.
The plot was really well planned. I mean, I could hardly notice any flaws because it was so effortlessly smooth! No unnecessary dragging on one theme or one scene, no plot holes and a perfect pacing! A PERFECT PLOT.
The characters were lovely! All the characters did a really good job at making the story look more relatable and emotionally attracting.
“I had no right wanting him. I never should have befriended him. I told myself that I was doing it for Lacey. But that was a lie.”
The writing style was quite intriguing and simple. I really think Krissy could do a little more better to make sure that her words shine more than they do now. I can’t wait to read her next ventures and see how she will develop more as an author!
